What Happens When You Have a Korean Name in America

It struck me the other day, that despite the fact you, Jojo, are Korean fully and I am not, I have a Korean name.
Here are some of the things I have been mistaken for over the years instead of "Arah"......

No. 1:
Autumn

No. 2:
Auburn

No. 3:
Ada

Yeah, I don't actually know who Ada is.

No. 4:
Otter

Possibly my favorite nickname yet! And it does sound strangely like my name...

No. 5:
Arya

As in Eragon's heroine. This one will really crack you up, but many people actually think my name is spelled this way. :)

No. 6:
Aria

There are actually real live people named Aria, so it was a good guess!

No. 7:
Aura

Not entirely sure where the inspiration for that one came, but I was called Aura just last week.
No. 7:
Aurora

That's it!
So next time you get called 'Joanna', remember all of the possibilities... muahahaa!

Of Gross Things and Cutting Fat

Today I had the lifelong experience of dissecting a cow's eye. Awesome! It was actually really fun especially the part when all the "macho" guys started screaming like little girls who get their pigtails pulled. My maniacal laugh didn't stop then and only increased at my friend's reaction to the eye. It looked like a blue onion skin filled with jello and growing some kind of cancerous tissue. Anna, my friend, proceed to screech and shudder whenever she even thought about touching it. I had sacrificed my gloves to her and even with them on she couldn't touch The Eye. A screaming match followed and finally she relented to grabbing the fatty tissue. Without much ado, we finished the dissection of the eye. Hee Hee, all in all, I think it was a great laugh and I did learn some things... well the important stuff anyway.
